The annular pancreas is a rather rare congenital anomaly characterized by the development of pancreatic tissue which completely or partially surrounds part of the duodenum, which leads to obstruction of varying severity. The prevalence of this pathology based on autopsy is 5-15 cases per 100,000 people. This rare condition manifests during the first few months of life, but sometimes the initial symptoms are noted in old age. Clinical signs include abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, vomiting, and a pancreatitis signs. There are currently no protocols for managing such patients.

Purpose. To describe the clinical and radiological features of the diagnosis and surgical treatment of patients with annular pancreas

Material and methods. A literature analysis and clinical observation of a patient with a annular pancreas are presented.

Results. CT features of the annular pancreas are described.

Conclusions. The presented case demonstrated the importance of a full clinical and radiological examination of patients with pancreatic lesions.
