Purpose.

To assess the diagnostic capabilities of computed tomography and radionuclide research in identifying risk factors for metastatic bone structure damage in patients with renal pelvic carcinoma.

Materials and methods. The study involved 31 patients with advanced pelvic carcinoma with metastatic lesions. All patients underwent computed tomography (CT) and osteoscintigraphy.

Results. Computed tomography revealed bone lesions in 15 (65.22 %) of the examined patients, CT data were confirmed in the case of SPECT studies, and bone metastases were diagnosed for the first time in 8 (34.78 %). Among them, 19 (82.6%) patients had a lesion of the first two vertebrae of the lumbar spine. In 36.84% of cases (7 patients) isolated invasion of L1 and L2 vertebrae. In 12 patients (63.16%), in addition to metastasis to the L1 and L2 vertebrae, lesions of other bones were found. Only lumbar vertebral invasion was diagnosed in 8 (42.11%) patients. Bone metastases extending beyond the lumbar spine were detected in 4 (21.05%) of the examined patients. 4 (17.39%) patients had metastatic bone lesions without L1 and L2 vertebral invasion.

Conclusion. Radiological methods allow to determine metastatic bone lesions in urothelial carcinoma with high diagnostic accuracy. Computed tomography has sufficient resolution to detect bone lesions. The use of radiological methods (CT and SPECT) in the early stages of the disease to diagnose the presence of bone metastases will allow you to choose the most correct treatment regimen for the patient.
