The presented clinical examples demonstrate a radionuclide method for early detection of mitochondrial damage as a possible predictor of the development of myocardial dysfunction in a transplanted heart. Determination of the washout coefficient in perfusion myocardial SPECT can identify segments with impaired mitochondrial function, determine the diffuse or focal nature of violations, which will help clinicians in the differential diagnosis of rejection crisis and coronary artery disease of a transplanted heart.
