Analysis and generalization of the first MRI experience for various neurological disorders after a new viral infection – COVID-19.

Materials and methods. A set of pathological influences of the virus, leads to micro- and macrostructural disorders in the central nervous system (CNS) of an ischemic, hemorrhagic, inflammatory and metabolic nature, which underlie MRI spectrum of Post-COVID Neurological Syndrome (PCNS) is described.

Results. The paper presents the relationship between the pathogenic foundations of this syndrome, its clinical manifestations, structural, metabolic and functional changes in the central nervous system according to MRI data. A wide range of MRI imaging of the most common neurological consequences of COVID-19 has been demonstrated.

Conclusion. The obtained data indicate that MRI with the wide spectrum of the modern qualitative and quantitative methods for assessing the state of the brain in vivo is currently the most promising tool for studying the neurological consequences of COVID-19.
