Purpose. Aneurysm of splenomesenteric trunk is a very rare condition. The aim of this study was to present our experience with patient treated by coil embolization.

Materials and methods. A 70-year-old woman was incidentally identified with aneurysm of the splenomesenteric trunk. Abdominal multislice CT-angiography revealed presence of the splenomesentric trunk with sacciform aneurysm (23×15 mm) of the proximal part of the splenic artery. Transradial endovascular coil embolization was chosen to treat the aneurysm.

Results. 12-month follow-up multislice CT-angiography showed occlusion of the aneurysm sac. The patient have been doing well during a 60-month follow-up period.

Conclusions. The splenomesenteric trunk is a rare anatomical variant in the abdominal cavity, an aneurysm of which is even rarer. In most cases, such aneurysms can be treated with endovascu-

lar antegrade access.
