Purpose. Mortality from diseases of the cardiovascular system occupies a leading position among the elderly. One of advanced the many faces of the clinical picture of the pathology of the vascular system is an aortic aneurysm (AA). The article gives a demonstration of the capabilities of helical computed tomography in the diagnosis of rare paths of development and complications of aortic aneurysm. Materials and methods. Held description computed tomographic studies of complex cases of true aortic aneurysms in two patients with identification of incompatible to life complications. Results. Patients underwent a spiral CT diagnosis of abdominal organs with subse-quent bolus contrast injection. The study was diagnosed with a true aneurysm of the in-frarenal aorta with life threatening complications. One patient revealed a saccular aneurysm with the formation of the thrombosedpseudoaneurysm with signs of bleeding. The following cases describe a fusiform aneurysm of the abdominal aorta with parietal thrombosis, dis-semination to both iliac arteries, and complicated by the formation of aorto-duodenal fistula. Conclusion. AA and the subsequent development of complications increase the mor-tality of patients. One of the ways to increase life expectancy of patients with AA is their early diagnosis, timely initiation of treatment to prevent the development of complications. Early diagnosis is focused on the application of modern diagnostic methods, the leading role which belongs to spiral computed tomography.
