Purpose. Increasing the efficiency of dental implantation in patients with secondary adentia and insufficient bone tissue in the lateral parts of the upper jaw by using the composition of xenogenic bone-replacing material "Bio-Oss" and materials based on modified hyaluronic acid «Dental Gyalrepair-02» and «Dental Gyalrepair-10» during the sinus lift operation under the control of radiology methods.

Materials and methods. The study involved 27 male and female patients (average age 52 ± 9.2 years) with diagnosis: secondary partial adentia and bone deficiency due to the low location of the maxillary sinus floor, without severe concomitant pathology. The patients were divided into three groups. The patients of the first group underwent a sinus lift operation using a composition of xenogenic bone-replacing material material "Bio-Oss" and saline. Patients of the second group underwent operation using the composition of xenogenic bone-replacing material material "Bio-Oss" and the material based on modified hyaluronic acid «Dental Gyalrepair-02», patients of the third group underwent operation using the composition of the material «Bio-Oss» and the material based on modified hyaluronic acid «Dental Gyalrepair-10». All patients underwent cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and orthopantomography (OPTG) at the preoperative and postoperative stages of the study.

Results. According to the results of the computed tomography 6 months after the operation, the height of the alveolar process of the upper jaw before the sinus lift in group 1 averaged 3.02 ± 0.51 mm; 6 months after the operation the height of the alveolar process in the area of the osteoregenerate was 10.25 ± 0.42 mm, which was 339% of the initial height. The average density of newly formed bone tissue in group 1 was 1790 ± 250 HU. The height of the alveolar process of the upper jaw before the sinus lift in group 2 averaged 3.44 ± 0.3 mm, 6 months after the operation the height of the alveolar process in the area of the osteoregenerate was 11.61 ± 0.38 mm, which was 337 % of the initial width. The height of the alveolar process of the upper jaw before the sinus lift in group 3 was 3.3 ± 0.25 mm, 6 months after the operation the height of the alveolar process in the area of the osteoregenerate was 11.23 ± 0.6 mm, which was 340% of the initial height. The density of the newly formed osteoregenerate in group 2 averaged 1870 ± 320 HU, in group 3 - 1840 ± 330 HU. In patients of all three groups, the X-ray properties of osteoplastic materials after a period of osseointegration corresponded to those characteristic of these materials; no contraindications for dental implantation were found.

Conclusions. Sinus lift operation using the composition of xenogenic bone-replacing material "Bio-Oss" and materials based on biomodified hyaluronic acid "Dental Gyalrepair-02" and "Dental Gyalrepair-10" (groups 2 and 3) was accompanied by a more significant increase in bone density at an earlier date in comparison with the control group.
