urpose. The aim of this study was to quantify the bone marrow fat fraction in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia on the stage before treatment

Materials and methods. In the current study 20 patients of the centre of oncology, haematology and immunology named after Dmitry Rogachev with a diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and 20 healthy volunteers of the same age group were enrolled. Fat fraction (PDFF) values were measured in the bodies of the both ilium and in the L4 and L5 vertebrae using two methods: mDixon-quant and MR spectroscopy.

Results. As a result of the study, a significant (85-95%) statistically significant decrease in fat content was found in all studied areas in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in the acute phase. For the normal group, a significant correlation was found between the fat fraction values measured using the mDixonQuant and MR spectroscopy methods.

Conclusion. Quantitative MRI of the bone marrow fraction of fat in children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia is a perspective non-invasive method.
