Purpose. To evaluate the role of volume echography in determining the amount of amniotic fluid in the first half of the second trimester of pregnancy. Materials and methods. In the period from 2013 to 2016, 253 women were examined at 13-21 weeks of pregnancy. Mean age of women was 30,25 +/- 0,44 years (min-max 17-45). Initially, the amount of amniotic fluid, taking into account the period of pregnancy, was determined using the method of measuring the vertical size of the largest water pocket of the amniotic fluid. Next, the amount of amniotic fluid was determined using the method developed by us for determining the volume of the maximum pocket of amniotic fluid using volumetric echography. For mathematical processing of the obtained data, methods of descriptive statistics were used. To determine the significant differences in the comparison of fractions, we used the φ-Fisher transform with the Yates correction for continuity. Results. Analysis of the dynamics of changes in the amount of amniotic fluid in the study group using the method of measuring the vertical size of the largest water pocket in 2D mode showed an increase in the size of the pocket in mm by 1,55 times from 13 to 21 weeks of pregnancy. Analysis of the dynamics of changes in the amount of amniotic fluid in the study group using the method of determining the volume of the maximum pocket in 3D mode showed an increase in the volume of the pocket in cm3 by 2.73 times from 13 to 21 weeks of pregnancy. There was a significant increase in the amount of amniotic fluid in accordance with the gestational period when using both methods (p<0.05). Conclusion. 3D/4D-volume of the maximum pocket of the amnion cavity normally increases, as does the physiological amount of amniotic fluid. Using 3D/4D echography to assess the volume of amniotic fluid in the first half of the second trimester of pregnancy can provide more accurate information about the amount of amniotic fluid and help improve the quality of ultrasound prenatal diagnosis. |
