The problem of timely diagnosis and treatment of dysplasia and developmental abnormalities of the lumbar spine and sacrum in children suffering from spondylolysis spondylolisthesis of the lower lumbar vertebrae remains relevant.

Purpose. To establish the frequency and nature of individual nosological forms of vertebrogenic dysplasias and developmental abnormalities in children with spondylolisis spondylolisthesis of the lower lumbar vertebrae, based on the results of radiological diagnostics of the lumbar spine and sacrum.

Material and methods. A survey of 109 children and adolescents aged 3 to 18 years with an established diagnosis of spondylolysis spondylolisthesis of the lower lumbar vertebrae. Among the boys examined there were 68 (62.38%) people, girls – 41 (37.62%) children. The scope of radiological diagnostics consisted of a survey radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.

Results. Dysplasia and developmental abnormalities of the lumbar spine and sacrum were diagnosed in 69 (63.3%) of 109 children with spondylolysis spondylolisthesis of LIV and LV vertebrae. The structure of the diagnosed pathology was dominated by the forms of dysplastic spina bifida posterior LV, SI vertebrae – 34.45% of cases.

Discussion. It has been established that with the aggravation of the severity of spondylolisthesis, the total number of diagnosed dysplasias and anomalies in children increases. So, with the first degree of severity of spondylolisthesis, the total number of diagnosed pathologies is, on average, 0.58 cases in one patient, with the second degree – 2.14 cases, with the third degree – 3.25 cases, with the fourth degree of disease severity – 4,0 nosological forms of pathology.

Conclusion. Dysplasia and developmental abnormalities of the lumbar ridge of the spine and sacrum are a high risk factor for the formation and severity of spondylolysis spondylolisthesis of the lower lumbar vertebrae in children.
