urpose. We used a non-invasive method (dynamic MR angiography) vs. an invasive angiography as the gold standard to evaluate the quality of intracranial aneurysms clipping.
Materials and methods. To evaluate the long-term results of emergent open repair performed for ruptured intracranial aneurysms, 13 patients underwent time-resolved imaging of contrast kinetics-MR angiography (TRICKS; GE Healthcare), as well as invasive digital subtraction angiography.
Results. We examined 13 patients with 16 clipped aneurysms in the acute stage of non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage. In one patient, an aneurysm neck was found with MR angi-
ography, confirmed by invasive angiography, which required repeated clipping. One patient developed a dissection of the vertebral artery.
Conclusion. TRICKS MRA has a number of advantages: high resolution imaging of intracranial arteries, non-invasiveness and absence of radiation exposure compared to CT. As the availability of non-invasive dynamic angiography increases, we consider that this method will become a very useful tool for postoperative control of clipped intracranial aneurysms.
