urpose. Demonstration of a serious complication after renal artery stenting – the occurrence of intrarenal and retroperitoneal hematomas, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic measures when it occurs.
Materials and methods. This report presents a clinical case of an endovascular treatment complication in a patient with subtotal renal artery stenosis and long-term uncontrolled arterial hypertension – bleeding from the renal artery branch 5 hours after the intervention. Timely ultrasound examination (US) and MSCT made it possible to make a correct diagnosis in the shortest time possible and carry out therapeutic measures that preserved kidney function.
Discussion. Considering the delayed nature of the complication, the most likely mechanism for the development of bleeding was damage of the vessel due to a sharply increased blood flow.
Conclusion. When performing endovascular interventions, one should be prepared for the development of complications and promptly use the necessary diagnostic tests to verify them and develop treatment tactics.
